Chainwax is a bicycle maintenance tracker. It records the components on your bikes (chain, master link, fork, shock, dropper, tires) and when you service them. This policy explains what data it handles.
By default, everything you enter (your bikes, components, service dates, and notes) is stored locally on your device. If you never sign in, none of it leaves your device.
You can sign in with Google or Apple to sync your data across your devices. When you do, we receive a stable account identifier and your email address (or, if you use Apple's "Hide My Email", Apple's private relay address). We never receive your Google or Apple password. We use this only to identify your account and sync your data.
When you are signed in, your maintenance data is stored on Cloudflare (D1) and tied to your account identifier so it can sync across your devices. We do not store payment information, location, contacts, or any special-category data.
We do not sell your data, serve ads, use analytics or tracking, or share your data with third parties, except the infrastructure providers needed to run the app (Cloudflare for hosting and storage; Google and Apple for the sign-in step, each under their own privacy policies).
You can sign out at any time. To permanently delete your account and all synced data, use Settings → Delete account in the app, or email us at the address below and we will delete it.
Chainwax is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
